Ultrasound Guided Injections
How it works
Our doctors are all specifically trained and able to give injections to most joints and soft tissue problems, and we have ultrasound imaging for guidance when needed.
At Sports Doctors we usually provide Corticosteroid and Local Anaesthetic injections (sometimes referred to as 'Cortisone') using ultrasound guidance to ensure that the medication is delivered to the correct site. Frequently targeted sites include Joints and Bursas, although it is often possible to aspirate cysts and ganglions using Ultrasound guidance as well.
Occasionally we will use Local Anaesthetic to do a test injection to a painful area for diagnostic purposes before doing a Corticosteroid injection.
